Health- what the heck is that?
Everyone wants to be healthy- but ask someone what it means? Ask 10 people and you might get 10 different answers. Many people will say something related to feeling good. Is that it??? So here are a few fun facts: 1- in more that 50% of heart attacks, the first sign of not feeling good was the heart attack itself! 2- according to the World Health Organization, we rate number 38 of the worlds nations in the category of health 3- The USA spends MORE per person, than any nation on the planet on health. Something is wrong with this picture!!! If you owned a sports team, spent more than any other owner and ended up in 38th place, you'd fire somebody! You'd fire everybody!!! So what do we do? What would you do? I would like to hear from you- and I don't believe the answer is political.
What is Wellness?
When I googled the definition of Wellness, this is what I got:
the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort.
The 2 concepts that jump right out are "healthy" and "deliberate effort." I'm going to undertake healthy in a future post, but deliberate effort says to me that Wellness must be made as a specific goal, and worked towards- that it's not just going to come down the road and bite you in the tush.
We should all be asking ourselves right about now

The Lesson of Neuroplasticity
What should we learn from Neuroplasticity? That the HEALTH &WELLNESS of our brains is in our hands.
And so it is true with the entiretyl of our health and wellness- it's up to us. So are you going to be that person
that waits until your brain is mush to try and start building some new brain connections? Are you going to wait until
your body is mush to try and get healthy?
Make health your goal, don't wait until you are sick- BE PROACTIVE.

Neuroplasticity is all the buzz these days. What is it?
Until very recently, the scientific community believed that our brains were unchangeable- you got what you got.
Now, we understand that that is not true- YOU CAN MAKE YOUR BRAIN GROW BIGGER, SMARTER AND HEALTHIER!
How? By expanding your thought pattern, thinking about things that you usually do not.
So what's todays lesson??? Go to a museum and think about that sculpture that never appealled to you before.
