Dr. Michael Jerkowich, MD

Dr. Michael Jurkowich is a Board-Certified Physiatrist with subspecialty training in Interventional Spine and Sports Medicine at Alabama Orthopedic Spine and Sports Medicine Associates. He completed his residency at SUNY Downstate, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.

Dr. Jurkowich specializes in non-surgical treatments for headaches, neck, and back pain, including epidural and nerve root injections, facet and sacroiliac joint injections, and radiofrequency ablation. He also performs vertebral augmentation, spinal cord stimulator trials, and endoscopic discectomies.

In addition, he is certified in electrodiagnostic testing (EMG/NCV) and uses ultrasound for musculoskeletal exams and joint/soft tissue injections to treat both acute injuries and chronic conditions such as arthritis.

An active member of the International Spine Intervention Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, Dr. Jurkowich stays at the forefront of evidence-based, advanced pain management to provide his patients with the most effective treatments available.
